Welcome to the brand new Adams Family web site! Thanks for stopping by and checking it out.
The Adams Family is now scheduling for 2012 and the dates, thanks to the Glory of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ are filling up quick. If you would like to book The Adams Family at your church, do so by calling Russ Adams at 513-856-9130 or 513-708-6532.
On December 17th The Adams Family was in the studio working on their next project. We are off to a great start and want to send out a great big THANK YOU to all the musicians that had a part in making this happen. Also a bigger thanks to Rob Nadler which is the engineer of Waycross Studios
In 1972, a young man named Danny Russell Adams (Russ) who had been playing music in the bars and honky-tonks decided to go to church at the request of his wife Peggy. His parents had taught him about Jesus and Russ knew that his life was missing something. The words that were spoken by Brother JC Moses sank deep into Russ’ heart that Sunday. Soon after, Russ gave his heart and life to Jesus Christ. With his love for music and a new love in Christ, it did not take long for Russ to start using his talents for God. Russ, his sister Juanita, her husband Steve Wright and their brother Donnie began singing as a group and thus the Adams Family was born. The group cut their first album (yes, album) in 1977 and began opening for groups such as the Hinson’s. Eventually, as work in their local churches became more necessary, Donnie stepped away and the group reduced their hectic schedule. As time progressed, Russ and Peggy’s son Kane began to take interest in the bass guitar and then drums. Soon Kane was playing with the group as their drummer. Also growing up during this time was their daughter Susan. Susan’s tremendous voice began to mature and soon she began singing with the group. In 1995, Susan married David Longworth who could play lead guitar and had an inward desire to use that talent for God. God then called Steve and Juanita into a new ministry as Pastors of a church. God then brought Matthew McIntosh into the group’s life. Matt can play a multitude of instruments; however, was the group’s bass player until he stepped down to minister more in 2009. Matt married Jessica (Keith) McIntosh who used her musical talents in singing and playing the piano with the Adams Family until she decided to join her husband Matt after the 2001 schedule. Russ’ other son Danny brought his acoustic guitar talents to The Adams Family full time in 2011 after stepping away from playing with The Benge Family. With the band short on a bass player God was moving and opened the door For Tim Mcfarland to step in and that he did. Not only did he bring his amazing bass guitar talent but he can also sing that completes the three part harmony. Their goal is that people will be uplifted, encouraged and turned on to Jesus as the Holy Spirit moves through the songs and hopefully into the hearts of the listener. May God richly bless you and thank you for getting to know the Adams Family a little better. .. ...............
